Sandusky Register - Husted among featured speakers at dinner event
SANDUSKY — The Erie County Republican Women’s Club is hosting its annual picnic, scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Ohio Veterans Home’s east pavilion. People can access the area best by using the Strub Road entrance.
The $12 meal, payable at the gate, comes with a full dinner, drinks and dessert. People can bring their own beer, wine or champagne.
Among the featured speakers:
• Leandra Westbrook, a Willard High School graduate and an incoming junior at Kent State University. She is involved with the Young Americans for Liberty organization. This past June, she attended Turning Point USA’s Young Women’s Liberty Leadership Summit in Dallas, Texas.
• Jon Husted, the Ohio Secretary of State, who is also a gubernatorial candidate for the 2018 election. In 2017, he became the only known constitutional officeholder in U.S. history to request a 100 percent cut in taxpayer funding, opting instead to run his office using past surpluses.
